“As an emergency room nurse, I see the effects that the cost of treatment and the burden of rising medical insurance premiums and co pays have on our community. I have the opportunity to listen to our neighbors who are struggling. Doctor bills are piling up and people have to choose between purchasing their heart and blood pressure medications and paying their bills. We need to make healthcare more affordable for everyone in Michigan.”
Lesia has lived in Warren with her parents, George and Marta Batschynsky, and her brother Roman since 1971. She attended South Elementary, Butcher Junior High, and Mott High School, from which she graduated in 1984. Lesia earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2007, with High Distinction, and an Associates Degree in Science-Nursing, with Honors, from Henry Ford Community College in 1995.
She has worked for the same health care system for over 22 years. Lesia and Mark will celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary in August. Mark is a Warren City Councilman in his first term. They are members at St. Mary the Protectress Church where she sings in the choir. They live right next door to her parent’s house where Lesia grew up. “District 28 is and has been my community for most of my life. It is the community in which I grew up and the community in which I chose to live. Experienced in working for the rights and needs of my patients I now wish to work for the rights and needs of our community.” Please help Lesia fulfill this calling.
